The Summoning of Bastet¶

Delivered at ToorCamp 2024 on June 28, 2024, from 5:05–5:10 PM Pacific in the Prime Dome.

This five-minute talk explores sustainable funding for security research and the conflicts of interest and incentives that make it difficult. Inspired by the Egyptian goddess of protection, Bastet combines an AI persona, Ethereum smart contracts, and a Discord community to coordinate research and reward contributions to computer security.
